My Bio

I graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro with a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy in 1986, a Master's degree in Philosophy in 1989, and a Doctorate in Philosophy from the Université de Paris IV (Paris-Sorbonne) in 1995. I am a full professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, an Associate Editor of Analytica - Revista de Filosofia, and a member of the National Association of Graduate Studies in Philosophy (ANPOF).

I am currently the Center for Modern Philosophy's (UFRGS) coordinator, as well as a member of the Philosophy of Language Seminar (UFRJ), the Association des Amis de Spinoza, and the Red Iberoamericana de Descartes.

I have experience in Philosophy, with an emphasis on Modern Philosophy, working mainly on the following subjects: modern philosophy, rationalism, knowledge, metaphysics, Descartes, Spinoza and Subjectivity.
