Paleoproductivity of the western South Atlantic was reconstructed using assemblage and geochemical indexes for the last 46 kyr. Paleoproductivity estimates and bioerosion rates of planktonic foraminiferal tests show a strong relation during late Quaternary.&lt;/p&gt;
