Prof. Diego Eckhard has degrees of Electrical Engineer (2006), Master of Electrical Engineering (2008) and Doctor of Electrical Engineering (2012) from Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Brazil, with visiting research (2011) in the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Sweden.He is professor of the Department of Pure and Applied Mathematics of UFRGS, working in the Graduate Program of Electrical Engineering (PPGEE) and Graduate Program of Applied Mathematics (PPGMAp). He is author of the book "Data-Driven Controller Design: The H2 Approach" publisher by Springer in 2012. His main research topics are related to the use of data to solve real problems using identification, estimation and control techniques. He has worked actively with: unmanned aerial vehicles, oil & gas processes, anaerobic bioreactors, wireless sensor networks, chemical reactions of cement and government bond yields.
