Assistant Professor

I am an Assistant Professor of Philosophy at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul. Previously, I have held postdoctoral positions at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). I was a graduate student at the Freie Universität Berlin, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Basel (where I received my PhD in 2010).

My current research focuses on issues in metaethics, epistemology, and philosophy of mind. I am especially interested in the nature of rational agency, both practical and epistemic. This leads me to address a range of topics in epistemology (reasoning, epistemic normativity), metaethics (reasons and rationality), and philosophy of mind (the nature of our rational capacities). In addition, I continue working on issues in philosophy of action, which has already been the focus of my PhD dissertation (intentional action, practical knowledge).
